Production for the RAAF Centenary Memorial Dedication
More than 350,000 Australians served in the Royal Australian Air Force during its first 100 years. To commemorate the centenary, a memorial was constructed on the parade ground at RAAF Base Point Cook, with a major dedication event bringing together military tradition, live ceremony and professional event production.
NEXTGEN supported the commemorative program across multiple events, including a sunrise service, the outdoor memorial dedication and plaque unveiling, aerial flyovers, a post-event luncheon and an evening gala.
The production needed to work for both the audience onsite and viewers joining remotely. Outdoor staging, professional audio, a nine-camera video system, live streaming, event recording and technical coordination were brought together to deliver a respectful and professionally produced commemoration.

NEXTGEN delivered an integrated production solution for both the audience at RAAF Base Point Cook and viewers joining remotely. Professional audio, staging, cameras, video switching, live streaming and recording were coordinated as one connected technical system, while detailed planning ensured the production respected the significance and protocol of the occasion.
- Detailed site planning covering audience seating, camera positions, band staging, dual lecterns, VIP movements, power distribution and outdoor audio coverage.
- Event run-sheet development based around the MC script, ceremonial proceedings and traditional military protocols.
- Coordination of presentation slides, graphics and screen content with the RAAF centenary branding and event requirements.
- Professional outdoor audio designed to provide clear audience coverage while preserving sightlines to the memorial and minimising equipment within camera shots.
- Nine-camera production using six operated cameras and three fixed positions to capture speakers, ceremonial proceedings, the audience and key moments throughout the dedication.
- Live video production through vMix, including real-time camera switching, graphics, overlays, video playback, live streaming and event recording.
- Technical production across the wider two-day program, including the chapel service, memorial dedication, post-event luncheon and evening awards dinner.
- Onsite technical management coordinating the different production systems and event environments throughout the commemorative program.
